Fueling the Next Generation
The DCHSAO Scholarship Program honors the academic achievements of Detroit Central High School students and helps them pursue higher education. We believe every Trailblazer deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Each year, our alumni community comes together to fund scholarships awarded to deserving seniors. Membership support and donations help fund these awards—making a meaningful difference for Central's students.
Eligibility Requirements
Scholarships are open to graduating seniors at Detroit Central High School who meet the following criteria.
Current Senior
Must be a graduating senior at Detroit Central High School.
Academic Standing
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at the time of application.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Planning to continue education at a college, university, community college, technical/vocational program, or apprenticeship program.
REQUIRED ESSAY
Submit a 600–1,000 word essay about a Distinguished Alumni Trailblazer and how their achievements inspire you.

Download the Application
Download the current DCHSAO Scholarship Application and review all requirements before completing it.
Gather Your Documents
Complete the application and gather all required supporting documents, including your transcript and letters of recommendation.
Write Your Essay
Complete the required 600–1,000 word Distinguished Alumni Trailblazer essay as outlined in the application.

Application Deadline
The deadline for the current scholarship cycle will be posted here when applications open.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants will be notified after the scholarship selection process is complete.
